It’s about time to end the cycle of the star,
and I thought I was ready to say goodbye.
Today, your image just came by,
and in a rush of inspiration, of beauty,
of life,
of uncontrolled sadness,
I fell in love,

Holly Molly! Remix Contest is almost closed!

Neoclubber

Since I began working on my Neoclubber Remix Contest entry, i’ve been terribly nervous. I mean, the outcome of the contest could radically change the way my music is being checked up on the web. I had not thought of this before. If I win this contest, i’ll be featured on the new disc along with top-notch remixers!

I have loads of hope. I think I have submitted a very good entry, since I put in it an enormous measure of effort and creativity and tried not to destroy the original track… too much. I’ve listened to many other entries and I haven’t had that feeling that mine one does. maybe it is because my remix is done to suit my feelings… I don’t know. But i’ve been reviewed by other AP users and international DJ’s around and they also claim that my entry is totally off the hook. Yay!

Now, if I win, I want to tell everyone that i’m not (and never was) remixing to get the prizes. I did it because I love music and this competition offered me a chance to challenge myself and to improve my skills. If I win the physical prizes, it would be very cool, but wining the spiritual part f the game is totally priceless. So I want to give thanks to Neoclubber once again for giving AP users the choice to remix, learn, improve and, well, win stuff in such an entertaining and auto developing way. I also wanted to give thanks to everyone who listened to my track and enjoyed/reviewed it. Gracias!

There are 15 hours left right now. I am very nervous and am eager to know the results. I just hope the best entry wins and that the guys at AP had an excellent time remixing, just as I did. Luck to you all!

Interview With Marcus Schössow

It took me a while, but I finally finished my exclusive interview for TranceSound UK with swedish dance producer/dj Marcus Schössow.

So, here I give you, Marcus Schössow!

Swedish Beatball

1. After listening to your tracks carefully, it could be said that some of them boast a very dark feeling in contrast to more luminous tracks such as “Progresia - The shelter”. Asking for an introspective answer, what lies inside the hood that makes that big difference ? Did something happen that marked your music and your life ? Are there two Shössows inside you?

Marcus Schössow: Impressive question ! And, yes, there are two schossow, a very kind gentle emotional and a very very ruff bastard. I prefer them both, it makes my life alot more fun! All the Progresia’s tracks are made with a very strong feeling of either disappointment or love, I think tears behind sun glasses means by far the most to me. I would consider to be a borderline I guess… not a psycho, but right on the boarder hahaha!

2. Please name us what have been your greatest gig, and the most disastrous one.

Marcus Schössow: Most horrible was a gig in Norway 2 years ago for 5 people in a club for like 1000 people, promoter forgot to do marketing. Oh well, those 5 who showed up ended up in the bar getting very very drunk ! Best gigs hmm, it’s always good when it’s good, but Ukraine, Slovakia and Poland always gets naughty, filthy and really really wild!

3. How do you see yourself in the years to come?

Marcus Schössow: I just wanna do my thing

4. Is there a specific fact that drove you to begin your musical career?

Marcus Schössow: It was way to dig into myself and be alone in my own little world. Then I found similar minded people and I have became very very social ! But I love to dance and I love to party, it’s something that makes me go on in this world of falseness. An euphoric moment in front of 10,000 people can never be fake

5. Besides electronic music, what do you enjoy listening?

Marcus Schössow: Laidback rock music like Jose Gonzales, Coldplay etc…

6. Totally agree. Now, for the next question, Is there a track that actually keeps you out of sleep?

Marcus Schössow: 93 returning remix holdens of nothing, how da hell did he came up with that??

7. If you had to choose the perfect ambient to make a gig, how would it be, where would it be and why?

Marcus Schössow: In a shady basement club for about 1,000 people, no air condition, good sound system and then back to back with my great mates from my old hometown, (ie: Thomas Sagstad, Sebastian Brandt, Max Kristensson, Alyosha, Mazin Abood etc).

8. There’s a rumor going around that you worked on a track with Casey Keyworth aka Breakfast. Is this true or it’s just a silly joke someone invented?

Marcus Schössow: Hell yeah, it’s true, I think it will be out soon ! It’s very experimental but deffo a forward step for today’s trance sound.

9. How has your country’s culture influenced your music, if at all ? We all know Sweden has loads of Viking stories!

Marcus Schössow: Not at all, Sweden only has long winters, it drives us nuts so we make loads of music!

10. Anything extra you would like to add, just to wrap up, or a word to your fans and/or TranceSound.net members?

Marcus Schössow: Follow your inner voice and heart!

New Tracks!

I have two very good news to share:

First, my new EP Ingravita will be sold on Junodownload.com from wednesday on! Amazing! This EP has been played/supported by DJ’s such as Duende, Joop and Magik, amongst many others, which ensures a bit of success for my first trance release.

Second (and last for today), is that I have entered a new Remix competition hosted by Neoclubber, and my entry has already been submitted and commented to be one of the best to date. I just hope I turn out between the best remixers, as it took a hell of a lot of work… but i’m happy with the results.

[ES] Y Todo Se Va…

Es curioso… llevo quince años metido en mi colegio, el Santiago College, y no aguantaría una semana más.

Recuerdo mi primer día de clases, al que entré sin saber que me estaba metiendo en lo que ahora puedo decir fue una dulce condena. Mis momentos durante los primeros años fueron difíciles, me portaba como el forro, era el chacal de la inspectoría, el regalón de la Miss Blanquita. Retos que me formaron, retos que fueron una mierda.

Primero básico, me enamoré de Victoria apenas la vi. Ese año hice muchos amigos, nos sentabamos en la alfombra a leer… me quedé por primera vez dormido en clases. Segundo básico, rompí el récord interescolar al quedar condicional antes de cumplir 8 años. Conocí a Lander ‘Bomberman’ De Sasia. Lander me sacaba la cresta, junto con el cabezón Saavedra y sus secuaces. Tercero básico, miss Isabel, Alan Rückert, y los tipos que me torturaban molestándome y pegándome continuamente. Seguía enamorado. Así, el año pasó rápido y llegué a cuarto, un año más fome que un iPod lleno de boleros. Ni siquiera lo voy a mencionar, a exceptuar por el Great Brain Project, en el que me fue la raja.

Recuerdo cuando pasé a quinto. Un mal año. Peleas, soledad, lluvia, agresiones, gris, malas notas. Pasé el año con suerte, para entrar a sexto, sólo un poco más feliz que el año anterior, año más como el orto. Depresión. Fractura en brazo izquierdo. Me des-enamoré. Repetí. Dejé de ver a mi familia paterna… Todo ahora cambia.

[ES] Psu… Psu…

Mañana, se viene lo que todos los estudiantes de Chile odian. La Prueba de Selección Universitaria o PSU. Como me ha tocado estar revisando en internet todos los detallitos, creo que de repente no estaría mal poner todo acá, ordenado.

Entonces, ¿qué hay que llevar a la PSU?

Tarjeta de Identificación
Carnet de Identidad
Lápiz a Mina HB2
Goma

Acuérdate que no se pueden llevar celulares, papeles, billeteras, ni nada de lo que no se especifica en esa lista! (me pregunto qué onda con la tarjeta bip! eso sí…)

…¿Y Cuándo son las pruebas?

Lunes 1ero de Diciembre: 08:15 - Lenguaje y Comunicación.; 14:15 - Ciencias (biología).

Martes 2do de Diciembre: 08:15 - Matemasticas.; 14:15 - Historia y Ciencias Sociales.

Para ahora, lo que se recomienda fuertemente es encomendarse a la fe de Imhotep y alimentarse prósperamente. Dormir bien estaría la raja también. Chequeen sus locales de rendición en el sitio del Demre. Y para mañana, un poco de chocolate sería el mejor alimento para antes o justo después de la prueba. Recuerden niños que el seso está lleno de conexiones neuronales y gasta más energía que una ampolleta de 60W. Así que sigan los consejos del tío Aeros y les debería ir de lo mejor.

[ES] Marca En La Montaña

Recuerdo haber visto hoy
un harapo sobre la punta de una montaña,
la cual tenía una marca,
bajo la cual se esconde la carne
vil, pero de vida para el hombre.

Más allá de la montaña,
se encontraba indeleble una pasión,
la cual no veo pero clamo por su posesión.

Aquella montaña me vino por el camino del recuerdo,
insospechado, inoportuno, pero extrañamente planeado,
y me torturó hasta adentrado en mi propio cielo.
¿Por Qué?

No es la simple loma lo que me inquieta,
sino adonde esta se posa.
No es la sierra aquello que me atrae,
sino la isla remota que la rodea.

Y no es el llegar lo que me acongoja,
sino el
camino tan solo que me apaga.

Aerotek releases She’s Never With Me

Oh yes!

My first official release has been signed and delivered! Do you remember my track She’s Never With Me, a mellow, soft and inspiring Trip-Hop/Downtempo tune I made some months ago? If you don’t, head to the first video of the Visual section or listen to the preview on my Last.fm.

That track has just been signed to Transtechnia Records, and will be sold over at Juno.co.uk as a one-track EP (catalogue no. TR001). This single will not be sold at any overrated price, so if you really like the track, buy it for a few coins.

The official release date is set to Thursday November 27th, so stay tuned!

But what is this track about? When you all see the cover, this question may arise. The answer comes next:

It’s been a long time since I wanted to make a track about ‘Her’. Perhaps nobody concretely, or perhaps everyone who has marked my troublesome romantic life.

Almost a year ago, I made my last trip hop production, Sunset in Habana. Now, I come to revitalize that part that had been left aside. This track is intended to be heard with the heart. It invites to subtle relaxation and meditation. Each sound in here was thought of before it was used, and each separate sound means a thing. That’s a bit difficult, huh?”

Wicked! New Gmail Themes!

Yesterday I was browsing through my email and accidentally I clicked the mouse while moving it through the screen. Some parts turned blue, and I said ‘Well, it must be because I highlighted stuff’. The answer was, curiously, no. I tried to click in a blank space but nothing happened! I refreshed the site like 3 times and nothing happened! Today I received the notification that it is a new option Gmail users have: Themes.

As you can see, there are over 30 new themes that include not only new colors, but new backgrounds, bars, text styles, etc. Now, the most cool feature is that these themes are dynamic: They will change depending on location, weather conditions and time of day.

Next time you log in to your Gmail account, make sure you click on settings and take a look to the Themes tab. These guys are geniuses!
