Michael Jackson Dies!

Michael
Today, thursday 25th, numorous reports have indicated that the 90’s pop icon, Michael Jackson, died after having a heart attack while he was in his house at Los Angeles. He was immediatly taken over to the UCLA hospital, at around 12:20 today, and later it was said that hhe was in a “very, very bad state”.

Around 17:00, TMZ, a celebrity gossip webpage, posted on its main site, that Michael Jackson had died. This was based upon the rumours that the paramedics were not able to bring him back to life, since he was not breathing and had no pulse.

Paramedics & Michael

Then, later in the evening, several news & media stated that Michael had died. Then CNN confirmed it, and HIStory has ended.

I was born in the late 80’s, and I had a very wonderful childhood through the 90’s. Michael Jackson came in to my music life, I remember all those videoclips where he dances with children and teaches them values such as solidarity, peace and tolerance, everything surrounded by excellent tunes and an incredible dancer who always had a smile in his face.

In the late 90’s, Michael was accused of sexual abuse against children, which made all of us a bit scared of our idol, we didn’t know what to think. Then slowly things began going downhills for Michael until today, the last day of his life. He died when he was just 50 years old.

Leaving that dark spot of his carreer behind, i’d love to say that Michael has influenced me in my music, and i’m 100% positive that many of today’s teenagers & college students would be different without his work. Michael Jackson has died, and so does a very special era in music. But he will not be forgotten. He will keep to live on and on, and every time someone remembers him and plays one of his songs, he will come as alive as when he walked in this earth.

Michael!!
Michael, you won’t be forgotten.

Interview with Randy Boyer

After preparing everything for months and months, I finally finished the interview I was waiting to do. I made it on exclusive for TranceSound, and the person interviewed is in my opinion one of the best trance producers around. Please let me introduce the man that’s been rocking the world with endless trance and progressive tracks, the man on the mission of expanding the EDM underground scene around the world. Everybody welcome mr. Randy Boyer!

Randy Boyer

1. We know for a fact that on 14th of August you had a gig with the well known (and one of the most important DJ’s, remixers and producers of all times), Mr. Paul van Dyk. Please tell us about it.

Randy Boyer: Well that was my first time ever playing with Paul Van Dyk, so I was really excited. It has always been a dream to DJ along side of him, and that opportunity was definitely one of my accomplished moments. After that, I ended up DJing along side of him once again in Boston MA on 09.12.08, so twice in two months was pretty amazing!

2. Talking about gigs, I also know that You had several other venues in the past with Tiesto at the Constitution Plaza, also ATB at Pacha NYC (where I also have pictures made by several TranceSound.net forum moderators), also Ferry Corsten at The Estate. Please let us know how does it feel to be surrounded by so many well known names out there ?

Randy Boyer: Well it is an honor to be a part of these events. These are all DJs and producers that I look up to, and have dreamed about DJing along side of. I have been working extremely hard all of my career, so it is really great to be finally recognized. I always new what I wanted to do and become, and now my dreams and goals are starting to come together.

3. Please tell us further details about the future event that You had on 18th of July, called “Operation Give Life”.

Randy Boyer: “Operation Give Life 2009” (OGL ‘09) is my annual fund-raising event that raises money for cancer research at the Dana-Faber Cancer Institute in Boston, Massachusetts. This event is very close to my heart because 100% of the proceeds goes to the fight. Last year we raised over $1600 and this year we would like to reach over $2000. The great thing about this event is that while it is going to be a live show with myself and Tritonal, you don’t even have to attend to be a part of it because we are accepting donations from anywhere in the world. We have a brand new website dedicated to this event, http://www.operationgivelife.org. Here, people can donate, and also find out all the information you need, and check out pictures from last years event. All the talent involved for this night from the DJs, to lasers, photography, and promotion is all donated free of charge so that we can donate 100% of the door cost. This year the DJs will be myself, Tritonal, and Si-Dog. Next year I hope for the 3rd annual event to attract even more talent and interest.

4. What can You also tell me about the event You had, few months ago at Living :: Espacio Riesco, in Santiago, Chile (South America) on May 10th 2008, where me, Stefano Giangrandi aka Aerotek was there too ?

Randy Boyer: That gig was by far one of the most amazing performances ever. There was over 5,000 people in the massive venue, the vibe, people and music was just amazing! I love Chile and the people there, it was an amazing experience. I hope I can go back soon.

5. What can you tell us about your latest release, “No Limit” ?

Randy Boyer: “No Limit” - Randy Boyer & Kristina Sky ft. Cari Golden is my first single on Ultra Records, and it has been making a lot of noise all over the world. It is being hammered on Satellite radio and now the music video has over 14,000 views. The video can bee seen at youtube also be sure to check my tour dates too because I am planning a few shows where I will bring Cari Golden to perform this track live! So far we will be doing that in Las Vegas for the Perfecto Show in August.

6. What is the “Buzz” with this latest podcast of yours ?

Randy Boyer: BUZZ Radio is my 4 hour weekly mix show on WKSS Kiss 95.7 in Hartford Connecticut USA. The BUZZ Podcast can be downloaded world wide at the Itunes music store by simply going to the store and typing in Randy Boyer, you will see the BUZZ podcast right there to your left. The Podcast is hour 3 of my 4 hour radio show, and I post it up every week. There is always 20 mixes up there, so go subscribe and get them all :). The tracklist’s can be found on my forum.

7. Apart of ASOT, Flashover, Coldharbour and Vandit, are there any other labels you’re registered to? Is it difficult to enter such recognized labels ?

Randy Boyer: Yes, extremely. Like I said in one of the questions above, I have been working extremely hard, for over 14 years in this business, so I am finally getting recognized as a force to be reckoned with. I also have tracks on Soundpiercing which is a division of Armada, as well as Istmo music. I just recently did a remix of ‘I Ran’ by Darude which is out on Robbins.

8. How is your radio show at KISS FM (95.7 hz) doing? Can you tell us more about it ?

Randy Boyer: The radio show BUZZ Radio is doing amazing. It airs every Saturday from 12:00 am - 04:00 am. This July will be 7 years strong. It has definitely been a long journey but the radio show has allowed me to meet so many people and spread my influence over the New England airwaves on FM radio, which is extremely rare in this part of the country.

9. Where do you feel is the EDM scene evolving to? Where do you think we might be in a couple of years more ?

Randy Boyer: The beauty of EDM music is that its always evolving, and no one can tell where its going. I love what I am doing, and I am always striving to make something different and new. I feel my sound is very unique and that’s what kind of music I make. All I can say is that I hope it continues to grow bigger and bigger, especially in the United States.

10. To close this interview, any other comments to all TranceSound readers/members ?

Randy Boyer: Yeah, visit my website http://www.randyboyer.com. On that website I have free downloads, pictures of my past events, and my forum is always filled with great questions from fans and people to connect with. Also while you are there I would highly recommend you sign up for my newsletter. When you do I send you over an email with access to my secrets page. On that page there are exclusive downloads, and live mixes you can download for FREE. I also have a lot of tour dates this summer, so hopefully I will see some of you soon. Don’t forget facebook, myspace, twitter as well :) Lastly, thank you for all the support everyone!

Interview with Maor Levi

In an exclusive for TranceSound, I had the chance to interview one of today’s hottest and most acclaimed electronic producers. His tracks have been played by Armin Van Buuren, Paul van Dyk, Above & Beyond and many, many others (Even I have!). He has made great remixes for famous artists and he’s a very cool and fun person!

Please, everybody welcome mr. Maor Levi!

Maor Levi

1. Tell us, when and how did you hook up with electronic music ?

Maor Levi: When I was about 12 years old, me and a good friend of mine were exposed to Tiesto sets and his wonderful Magik series… we started to listen to it day after day and were amazed… we never knew what was Trance back then, as israeli people we knew only Psy-Trance… So we had massive interest on how to produce this music and how great it is. From that moment we got into it more and more till we decided we wanted to explore it more to its very foundations, which is producing.

2. Tum Ta Titally Tum Ta Too. Da Derp Dee Derp Da Teetley Derpee Derpee Dumb. Der ?

Maor Levi: It’s too obvious. Derp Dee Tum Ta. :) (this was a funny question by the way)

3. Doesn’t being in the military restrict most of your time for producing ?

Maor Levi: Yeah, when I get home from the Army I usually work like a madman but still… Inspiration is quite rare… I’m having a bit of an Artist block at the moment which wont let me think of original material… so I’m hanging out, trying to gather some ideas is good!

4. How would you define your “Maor Levi” sound ?

Maor Levi: Bangin’ Bubbles with Lush Atmospheres that leads to a once in a lifetime tune… Sort of thing hehe :)

5. Where can we get some of your famous ‘prank’ tunes? And where did you get the inspiration for them !?

Maor Levi: Hahaha! Good one! Well, my prank tunes are mostly about me and my friend’s life… They just come dropping by the studio, we drink something… laughing and then we can think of a catchy funny song within a minute. My prank songs started on 12th grade when we used to compose songs about our teachers… we even got an album of it lying somewhere! We really got into it and enjoyed so much that I decided to purchase professional gear for it as well! (microphone, compressor and pre-amp).

6. What can You tell us about your own label Maori, any new upcoming releases will follow this summer ?

Maor Levi: I don’t have a label, yet. :) my Maori alias is quite gone since I just didn’t find it fun anymore… My directions in music are always changing as time goes by. I expose myself to new sounds and new materials and feelings… what I can say… lots of things cooking up… just stay tuned… I’m not gone!

7. I reckon every producer has a message within their tracks, what can You tell us about your track “Illumina” ?

Maor Levi: “Illumina” was made from deep feelings, that’s for sure… it was because of a girl I really used to like! She even came up with the title for it… ;) Long long looooong story. This track has a message… mostly about love… the atmosphere in it can describe it perfectly.

8. What about your productions nowadays, should we expect anything new from you this year ?

Maor Levi: Well, there wont be much Maor Levi singles flying around as most of them are gathered into the album… but I’m working on a lot of remixes and brand new ideas… don’t forget to watch out for my 123XYZ alias which is gaining a lot of awesome feedback. Visit: http://www.myspace.com/that123XYZthing

9. Any other thingies you want to add before we wrap up ?

Maor Levi: Enjoy music , watch yourselves! support the artists.

Tomorrow

Sunrise at Jacksonville Beach Pier II, by Elion C.

This happens tomorrow,
when I was still cold
And we crossed our norths
on your way forth
to where “Know” is lord.

You made my day
on that paved way,
and as we waved,
a smile was portrayed.

Tomorrow we’ll meet
and in your eyes I’ll feel
that maybe, and just maybe,
the day is here.

Tomorrow.

[ES] Espero Me Recuerdes (el poema)

No Te Vayas, Por Dios

Galen Behr feat. Elle - Weak (Lyrics)

Another lyrics post now! I have been browsing for days through the net to find the lyrics of one of my favorite tracks, Weak, by Galen Behr featuring Elle.

Galen Behr

It’s not a new track, but somehow the lyrics don’t seem to be anywhere in the web! so I heard it over and over until I could figure what Elle wanted to say. And the lyrics are very beautiful, a perfect compliment to a very fine production, charged with feelings and colors all around. Also, the track has come to inspire me, since I’ve been feeling a lot like what Elle here sings, but well, let’s leave my opinions and thoughts here. I give you now, without more preamble, Galen Behr feat. Elle - Weak:

I can still remember
the way you touched my soul.
Time is always standing still,
I know I can’t let go.

A silhouette is all I see,
Shadows dancing on the walls.
I make my way in the dark
To find a shadow with a name.

Darkness is surrounding me,
I’m moving closer to you.
You light up like the sunrise,
I need you like the air.

Time is almost standing still
When you put your hand in mine.
When you whisper softly
You know you can’t let go.

Seeing ya makes me frozen inside,
Holding you so tight in my mind
Breathing faster,
I can’t speak
Eyes are meeting,
I get weak!

:D

Rex Mundi feat. Susana - Nothing At All (Lyrics)

I recently heard this incredible song on ASOT ep. 396, and I just found it too impressive to let it go. An astounding composition, totally breathtaking, sort of angry tasting, yet with a little light of hope… totally amazing.

Here are the lyrics of the song, so that you can all enjoy them:

This morning comes a step too soon
A lonely gaze, and empty room.
You’re a far cry
A distant memory.

But something inside of me always knew this,
I’d be standing here without you.

As if nothing’s happened,
As if nothing’s wrong.
The world seems to move on,
The world carries on.

I’ll starve for your love,
Hungry I fall.
As if nothing’s happened,
Nothing at all.

Nothing at all,
Nothing at all.
